Sursum Corda is a microtonal drone piece for an indeterminate number of electric guitars, each played with a EBow and a metal slide. Inspired by Gilles Quispel's essay "The Asclepius", which traces the Gnostic and Hermetic influences upon Christian ritual, the piece takes it's title from the Roman Mass in Latin: literally - "Lift up your hearts".

In Paradisum No.1 is taken from a series of installation pieces originally created in 2008 on the subject of infant mortality. "I remember as a child hearing all this 'why you must be baptised' malarkey and feeling appalled at the callousness with which unbaptised babies were regarded. The older I get, the more baffled and outraged I become by this bizarre theological dogma."
The version presented here is arranged for three guitars and one bass guitar. The sounds are produced by mini-fans exciting the strings without the involvement of a performer.
